About the St. Louis Illini Club
The St. Louis Illini Club was issued a charter by the University of Illinois
Alumni Association in
November 1955 and began operation in 1956 with a full slate of officers.
The first president was Stanley L. Bodman '31.
The St. Louis Illini Club has seen varying degrees of
activity throughout the years and has served several
hundred alumni and fans who maintain membership each year. This web site is intended to
provide information about the St. Louis Illini Club and our activities and to serve as
another point of communication between our club members.
Typically, our members are alumni and fans who live in the metropolitan St. Louis area.
We draw from over 5,000 University of Illinois alumni who reside on both sides of the Mississippi River. Our club
members come from the City of St. Louis, St. Louis County, Jefferson County, Franklin County,
and St. Charles County in Missouri, and we also have many members who reside in Monroe County,
St. Clair County, Madison County in Illinois.
An important function of the group is to provide scholarships to area high school students who
choose to attend the University of Illinois. Please see the Scholarships page to read about
